Effective immediately, the deal sees Warner Music U.K. license S-Curve's future repertoire for all international territories, excluding North America. In cases where artists are signed to S-Curve on multi-rights deals, the agreement also covers synchronization opportunities and expanded rights activity. Catalog titles are not included in the terms of the partnership, while financial details were not disclosed.
S-Curve Records was founded in 2000 by Grammy-Award winning producer and former Mercury and Columbia Records executive Steve Greenberg. Artists signed to the label have included multi-platinum selling British soul singer Joss Stone, Fountains of Wayne and the Baha Men, whose 2000 album "Who Let The Dogs Out" (which spawned the international hit single of the same name) sold four million units worldwide, according to the label. Having taken a temporary two-year hiatus, the label re-launched in 2007, and has since released records by Tom Jones, Duran Duran and Care Bears On Fire, among others.
Releases planned for 2012 include new albums from Joss Stone and U.S. singer-songwriter Diane Birch. The label's current roster also includes R&B vocalist Betty Wright, alt.rock band We The Kings, Nikki Jean and Andy Grammer, whose self-titled debut record is certified gold in the U.S., according to S-Curve Records.
"Steve and his team at S-Curve are adept at spotting truly unique talents, who make highly original records, with the potential to reach global audiences," said Christian Tattersfield, CEO, Warner Music U.K., in a statement.
"Steve's own abilities as a songwriter and producer combine with his understanding of the business to enable him to provide artists with invaluable support, both creatively and commercially," Tattersfield went on to say.

Commenting on the deal, Steve Greenberg said in a statement: "Christian and his team are true music people, filled with passion for songs and artists. I look forward to great success for our artists around the world. I started my career at Warner Music International some years ago, and so personally it's really exciting to come full circle."
